Jack Jack Num Num Cookie Copycat Recipe

We love the delicious flavor of The Incredibles’ inspired Jack Jack Num Num cookies.

This cookie is great to share while waiting in line or sitting on a park bench in a Disney Park. Our family enjoyed one at Disneyland over spring break. The cookie stand was on Pixar Pier between the Incredicoaster and Jessie’s Critter Carousel. If you are at Walt Disney World, you can find this same cookie in Hollywood Studios at The Market near the entrance to Toy Story Land.

This warm, gooey cookie can’t only be a Disney Park treat – it had to be an anytime treat. While looking at all the Jack Jack Num Num cookie recipes out there, I noticed most were focused on replicating the flavor and size. At home, I was on a mission to create a cookie smaller with the same texture and taste.

Secret ingredient – brown butter! The brown butter is truly the corner stone flavor of the Jack Jack Num Num cookie. The nutty, rich almost caramel like flavor that the brown butter brings is the key to this copy. For most, browning butter isn’t easy. In one of many attempts, my brown butter went to burnt butter in a blink of an eye. How to make brown butter? https://www.landolakes.com/recipe/16716/browned-butter/

The battle of the chips – the Disney Park cookie is packed with chocolate chunks. The chocolate chunks were too big for my smaller cookie. Both chocolate chunks AND mini chocolate chips are used in this recipe.

Size matters – the original cookie and most other copycat recipes use a 3.5-inch baking liner which includes 3 scoops of cookie dough. To get the same crispy edges in a smaller cookie, a cupcake pan with liners are used with only 1 scoop of cookie dough. The standard medium sized cookie scoop is what I use and recommend for ease. Copycat Recipe – Jack Jack Num Num Cookies

Since the brown butter is the central flavor for this cookie, plan extra time to make and cool the brown butter.

1 tsp salt

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 tsp baking soda

and mini chocolate chips.

6 - Press one scoop of dough into a lined cupcake pan and arrange 3 chocolate chunks on top.

7 - Chill thoroughly for about an hour.

8 - Bake at 350° for 8-12 minutes or until your cookies are a nice golden brown on the edges but still soft in the center.

9 - Before completely cooled, remove cookie from cupcake liner.

This Jack Jack Num Num cookie recipe is packed with that same great punch of flavor but in a smaller version perfect for an after-school snack, parties, picnics or simply for the Disney cookie jar.
