Alice in Wonderland premiered today (July 28th) in 1951. The best part of Disney+ is its filled with the Disney classics including the original Alice in Wonderland and its many new updated versions.
Alice in Wonderland Inspired Rides
Alice in Wonderful inspired two Disney Park attractions - Disneyland’s Mad Tea Party ride in 1955 and the Alice in Wonderland ride in 1958. While all Disney Parks have a version of the Mad Tea Party ride, the Alice in Wonderland ride is only at Disneyland. Of course, it has been updated since over the years with new three-dimensional designs, lighting and special effects. For some reason, we are always shocked at the line for the Alice in Wonderland ride. According to thrill-data.com, the wait time average is only 30 minutes which the ride is well worth a 30-minute wait.
Where to find Alice?
Want to “meet and greet” Alice? She can be found near the Mad Tea Cup ride at every Disney Park and also in EPCOT’s United Kingdom pavilion. Hopefully, she will return to character dining in Walt Disney World. In the past, she was the feature character at two Grand Floridian character meals which are now “temporarily unavailable.”
Today, the My Disney Experience app is your fastest and easiest option to finding Alice and all your favorite characters.
Open My Disney Experience app: - Go to the upside-down teardrop at the bottom of the screen - Go to the “filter” at the top left corner of the screen, select a specific park and APPLY
- Change the top center dropdown option to 'Characters'
Alice in Wonderland Movie
The animated feature Alice in Wonderland is based on Lewis Carroll’s book “Alice” and Walt Disney’s 13th animated feature. The film includes over 350,000 drawings and paintings by more than 750 artists. Child star Kathryn Beaumont preformed Alice’s voice and modeled for the artists.
The Queen of Hearts’ voice was performed by Verna Felton who was also the voice of the Fairy Godmother in Cinderella.
